Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic information to support patient care.
Sample Collection:
Collecting various types of patient specimens, such as blood, urine, and tissue samples.
Ensuring proper labelling and documentation of collected specimens.
Laboratory Testing:
Performing a wide range of routine and complex laboratory tests on collected samples.
Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
Data Management:
Recording and maintaining accurate and detailed records of test results, procedures, and patient information.
Utilizing laboratory information systems (LIS) for data entry and retrieval.
Patient Interaction:
Interacting with patients to explain the blood-drawing process and alleviate any concerns or fears.
Identifying patients and verifying their identities before sample collection.
Venipuncture:
Performing venipuncture to collect blood samples from patients.
Using proper techniques to ensure patient comfort and specimen integrity.
Specimen Handling:
Properly labelling and storing collected blood samples for transport to the laboratory.
Following established protocols for handling and processing different types of specimens.
Infection Control:
Adhering to strict infection control procedures to minimize the risk of contamination during sample collection.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Communication:
Communicating effectively with laboratory personnel and other healthcare team members regarding sample collection and any issues that may arise.
