Job Description:

1- Installation: Electricians install various electrical systems in buildings, including wiring, circuit breakers, outlets,
switches, lighting fixtures, and electrical appliances. They follow blueprints, building codes, and safety regulations
to ensure installations are safe and compliant.

2- Maintenance: Electricians perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they operate efficiently
and safely. This may involve inspecting wiring, checking for loose connections, testing circuits, and replacing faulty
components.

3- Repair: When electrical systems malfunction or fail, electricians are called in to diagnose and repair the
problem. This could involve troubleshooting issues with wiring, circuitry, switches, outlets, and electrical devices.
They use specialized tools and equipment to identify faults and make necessary repairs.

4- Upgrades and Renovations: Electricians assist with upgrades and renovations to existing electrical systems. This
may include installing additional outlets, upgrading lighting fixtures, replacing outdated wiring, and upgrading
electrical panels to accommodate increased power demands.

5- Safety Inspections: Electricians conduct safety inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards and
ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations. They check for overloaded circuits, faulty wiring,
inadequate grounding, and other safety concerns, recommending corrective actions as needed.

6- Emergency Services: Electricians are often available for emergency call-outs to address electrical emergencies
such as power outages, electrical fires, or electrical hazards. They must respond quickly to restore power and
ensure the safety of occupants.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a technical diploma or certificate program in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Additional vocational training or apprenticeship in electrical work is highly desirable.
  • Valid and up-to-date electrical worker license or certification issued by the relevant regulatory authority in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), such as the Ministry of Infrastructure Development or the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
  • Completion of any required safety training and certifications, such as Electrical Safety Training or First Aid/CPR certification.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools commonly used in electrical work, such as wire cutters, pliers, screwdrivers, and voltage testers.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment, including switchboards, circuit breakers, transformers, and electrical distribution panels.
  • Competence in performing electrical testing, calibration, and maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
